Objectives

- sharpen the awareness of the different factors involved in the translation process of non-literary texts;
- encourage students to reflect on their future profession;
- develop conceptual, analytical and linguistic skills;
- offer an opportunity to become familiar with research methods;
- stress the interdisciplinary dimension of the discipline;
- develop a critical attitude towards the models presented
- develop understanding of the relation between theory and practice, in order to increase the awareness of processes involved in translation;
- provide the students with adequate translation assessment instruments in order to give them proficiency in critical evaluation of translation products.
