Objectives
The expected outcomes of the course are for successful students to:
• Be able to use information technology for a wide variety of language services tasks including
o General project management
o Creating and maintaining translation memories and terminology databases
o Preparing and revising documents
o Finding and storing information relevant to the translation profession
• Know how to organize language services projects and documentation
• Understand how to use technology to work as teams
Program
• Revision and extension of translation technology knowhow – SDL, TRADOS etc
• Use of Microsoft Office for creating projects
• Introduction to Project management software demos
• Microsoft Office tools for evaluating and revising documents
• Creation of web pages for language services companies
• Maintenance of existing Translator’s page at FLUP
