Objectives

This interdisciplinary seminar seeks to familiarize students with some of the classical works of medieval historiography as well as to complement this view with a better knowledge of the state of the art in fields such as history of language and culture, history of science and art history.

Program

1. Presentation of major issues and concepts of the Middles Ages.

2. Analysis of the timeline of the Middle Ages including various dimensions.

3. Main works of European and Portuguese medieval historiography.
