Objectives

The aim of this programme is to reflect on moments and hapennings which are most representative of American history and culture, taking as a starting point the conception of America as Utopia.

Program

We will focus on the following points:
-The invention of “America” : reality and myth; the construction of the American national identity.
-The notion of Progress and the idea of “American Election” reflected or denied in different moments of the life of the United States.
-The South and the Nation.
