Objectives

The 5th year ‘estágio’ in the Ramo de Tradução provides students with the possibility of gaining professional experience in private companies and public institutions. The practical work of working full-time is invaluable for this purpose and our hope is that students will make full use of this possibility. The objective of the Seminar that will accompany this work is to provide a theoretical and practical framework within FLUP for the estágio.

Program

This year indivudual estágio work will be combined with a seminar during which both theoretical and practical aspects of translation and other aspects of professional language services will be discussed.

The Seminar is compulsory for all ‘estagiários’ (75% attendance) and will take place during an evening timetable every fortnight. This will be supplemented by visits to the companies or institutions providing the ‘estágios’.
