Abstract (EN): The study of salt landscapes, from a multidimensional approach based on the evolution of the wetlands, which bear the marks of human action over time and space, could be developed at different levels. We defend a comparative study of technological terminology as a way of reflecting on the use of a specific language and perhaps understand technology transfer systems since the 18th century. These issues stem from an elementary observation around the definition of the unit of production of Portuguese saltpans, Marinhas (also Salinas or Salterns), generally used in all Portuguese data terminology with regard to both seaside saltmarshes and inland salt works.
