Abstract (EN):
The reaction kinetics for the leaching of low-grade scheelite concentrates with sodium carbonate have been studied to establish the effect of the most important process variables, such as stirring, solid/liquid ratio, sodium carbonate concentration, temperature and particle size. The leaching residues were chemically and structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction. The experimental results conform with the shrinking core model and they show that the scheelite leaching is under diffusion control for about 30 min after the start of the reaction in the range 100-250 degrees C. Good tungsten recovery can be obtained.
