Abstract (EN):
The correlation of weld joint geometry and welding process parameters was studied. Carbon steel coupon plates were welded with a six axles robotized MAG welding cell. Taguchi techniques were used to plan the experiments carried out. The statistical analysis of the results showed a correlation between weld penetration and welding current, torch/workpiece distance and welding speed. The weld width and reinforcement were dependent on welding speed, arc voltage and current. Correlations were obtained by means of multiple regression analysis validated by experiments.
