Resumo (PT): Este texto tem uma dupla missão: por um lado, apresentar os resultados de um projeto de investigação sobre os processos e dinâmicas sociais que tornam possível percursos de estudantes de mestrado oriundas de contextos desfavorecidos; por outro, argumentar em favor de uma análise que, não sendo generalizável nem estatisticamente representativa, fornece, por via da combinação entre etnografia e método biográfico intensivo, importantes pistas compreensivas sobre o cruzamento entre as várias escalas de observação do social, partindo do indivíduo.
