Summary: |
The tasks that we will perform, within the ATLAS experiment at CERN, can be grouped in three items:
1 - ATLAS Databases: Collaboration and evaluation of the Conditions-COOL-LCG and the ROOT relational I/O efforts; Extension of the Conditions WEB Browser and of the Database Editor to the new interfaces; Re-implementing the interface from ATLAS DCS (PVSS) that we have developed, and including the new developments of LCG and ROOT; Support and migration of our online conditions database interface
(CDI) between the online system and the offline databases, to make it compatible with the new LCG/ROOT developments; Design and development of a new interface to the online configuration databases.
2 - Development, validation and test of the electronics associated with several components of the ATLAS muon central trigger processor. This work enters a new phase with the purpose of constructing the final system.
3 - Participation in the study and validation of the calibration and alignment strategies for the ATLAS detector. This work shall be performed in the framework of the alignment of the ATLAS silicon detectors as well as in the calorimeter calibration. The team is also proposing to participate in the activities associated with the ATLAS testbeam and with the installation of the ATLAS TDAQ.
The present proposal aims also to strengthen the participation of post-graduated Physics students in the project as a means to increase the participation in the future ATLAS data analisis efforts. |
