Employment Prospects
The world population is aging, with most countries seeing an increase in the number and proportion of older people in their populations. The phenomenon is about to become one of the most significant social changes of the 21st century, with consequences for almost all sectors of society. The social need for researchers in this field is evident when analyzing interdisciplinarity and the relationship between population aging and many socioeconomic sectors of strategic interest for the Portuguese and Galician communities. In this sense, the doctoral programme will be particularly well positioned to place highly qualified and differentiated professionals in the labor market, who will be able to meet the needs for Doctors who coordinate the complex processes of adaptation and response to the challenges of demographic and population aging.
