The Master’s degree in Portuguese and Foreign Languages Teaching is intended to prepare teachers of Portuguese, German, Spanish and French for the 3rd cycle in basic education (Portuguese) and for basic and secondary education (Foreign Languages).

Maximum number of students: it is determined by the Ministry every year; for the academic year 2008/2009, it was of 74 vacancies.

Course structure:
The Master’s degree is divided in two years:
On the first, the students shall accomplish 10 semester seminars;
On the second, they will have to accomplish, besides the seminars, the Initiation to Professional Practice in two languages, which includes a two-subject Pedagogical Internship in a school + 2 seminars to support the internship at the Faculty + an Internship Report
Students may only sign up for the Initiation to Professional Practice subject after having been approved in subjects Portuguese Didactics I and II and German / Spanish / French Didactics I and II.
To the applicants for this Master’s degree, the achievement of the following levels will be requested (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages): French C1, Spanish B2 e German B2.
In case of applicants who may have completed their language education before the European Framework’s levels of identification or who may have had discontinuities in their academic path, the Course’s Scientific Commission may request the accomplishment of an additional test.
