The Master’s degree in History and Heritage is divided in three branches of specialization:
Its specific goals are:

To train professionals to be capable of handling fundamental methods and techniques to the identification, inventory, disclosure and preservation of heritage: natural, documental, iconographic, built, archaeological, rural, maritime, industrial;

To prepare skilled agents for an intervention in cultural entertainment and local and historical tourism;

To prepare technicians for an integrated and multidisciplinary management of the local heritage, in order to allow the community to preserve it.
Employment Prospects
Degree approved under Art. 54 of the Teaching Career Statute (Decree-Law no. 15/2007, of 19/01), regulated by Ordinance no. 334/2008, of 30/04, for the groups 200 (Portuguese and Social Studies / History) and 400 (History). (Order of His Excellency the Secretary of State of Education, July 21st 2009).

Minimum number of students: 10
Degree approved under Art. 54 of the Teaching Career Statute, regulated by Ordinance number 334/2008, of 30/04, for the groups: 200 and 400 (Order of July 13th, 2023).This degree enables those who are already in the teaching profession to advance in their career, but it is not a teaching qualification degree.
