This degree, a result of the Bologna Program, seeks a new type of education, counting on the support of the credit transfer and accumulation system, the diploma supplement and the European grading scale.

Among other goals, we seek the trust of employers as for diplomas and competences of our graduates. The degree in Languages, Literatures and Cultures has been conceived with the purpose of a broad teaching of languages, cultures and literatures, as well as of subjects which problematize linguistic and literary phenomena, allowing a subsequent application to the teaching of languages and intercultural relations.

Its curricular structure also contemplates a linguistic and literary theoretical reflection and pays attention to the intersection of knowledge in the perspective of mentalities and cultural sensitivities.

The graduate in LLC may apply to the following Master’s degrees:
  • Masters in Anglo-American Studies
  • Masters in Literary, Cultural and Interart Studies
  • Masters in Linguistics
  • Teaching Portuguese and Foreign Languages in the 3rd cycle of Basic Education and in Secondary Education, with specialties in English or Spanish or French or GermanTeaching English and Foreign Languages in the 3rd cycle of Basic Education and in Secondary Education, with specialties in Spanish or French or German
  • Masters in Portuguese as a Second Language / Foreign Language
Students might also choose a more general education, through a broad choice of options on linguistic, literary and cultural fields, leading to several areas of activities:
