The undergraduate degree in Sociology, created in 1985, is aimed at the training of sociologists, offering solid, up-to-date scientific preparation, and providing students with analytical, observational and operational skills that will prove to be important in their professional life. The course encourages students to seek life-long learning in the future, and places particular emphasis on their training in culture and citizenship.
The course provides specific theoretical and methodological training in sociology, initiated in the first years and broadened in the final years. Sound preparation in other areas of the Social Sciences (such as economics, anthropology, social psychology or demographics) is also provided, promoting a global interdisciplinary perspective.
It is a five-year, comprehensive course based on a curricular structure organised around three disciplinary cores: a set of subjects providing basic, general training in sociology; subjects in specialised sociologies; introductory subjects to other social sciences and complementary subjects.
The student graduates after obtaining approval in subjects up to a total of 115 local credits or 300 ECTS credits.
