Course Description
It is a general course, covering several chronological periods. Its curricular structure contains a significant practical component, both in terms of material analysis and fieldwork (namely, prospecting and excavation).

The Degree Course in Archaeology is organised into eight academic semesters. However, from the 1st to the 3rd year, there is an annual subject called "Practical Work", developed in both the Faculty’s laboratories and affiliates, and in fieldwork (excavation and prospecting). The 4th year also offers an annual subject - Seminar - in which students prepare a project to be presented publicly and without which the student will not be awarded the degree in Archaeology. Furthermore, the 1st year offers eight compulsory semester subjects, two general options and two options in Archaeology. The 2nd year includes six compulsory semester subjects, two general options and two options in Archaeology. The 3rd year comprises four compulsory semester subjects, two general options and four options in Archaeology. The 4th year comprises four compulsory semester subjects, two general options and two options in Archaeology, apart from the Seminar referred above (annual).

The course’s objective is to train archaeologists, whose skills will allow them to perform several tasks in the general areas of Archaeology and Heritage.
