The Master’s degree in Portuguese and Foreign Languages Teaching is a second cycle which seeks the acquisition of the necessary pedagogical and scientific skills for teaching in 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycles of basic education and in secondary education, bearing in mind the transformations in society, education and in the technological and scientific evolution.
The Master’s degree is four semesters long (120 ECTS).

Admission requirements: 1st cycle degree or equivalent
Selection criteria (Tiebreaker factors – the same as in general Higher Education access law.)Access conditions:
- The student might also apply as long as he/she has a graduate degree and 104 ECTS in both education domains, being able to complete the remaining 36 ECTS (=6 subjects) while attending the Master’s degree.
- Candidates for this Master's degree should preferably have attained the following levels of competence (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Language Teaching): English C1, French C1, Spanish B2 and German B2. In the case of candidates whose formal qualifications do not meet this expectation, the Scientific Committee will certify by means of a test in the foreign language in question that their competences are at a level adequate to the frequency of this Master's degree.
- In the case of candidates who have completed their language training prior to the identification of levels by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages or candidates who have had discontinuities in their language training or whose academic background does not clearly show the level of language indicated in the previous point, the Scientific Committee of the Cycle of Studies may require a foreign language test.
