Course Description
The degree is aimed at the study of two languages and the cultures, literature and history of the respective countries. Throughout the course, the literary and linguistic theories are discussed, as well as the practical aspects of teaching and translating foreign languages and intercultural relations. The course is structured around the theoretical and practical discussion of literature and linguistics, with importance given to the specific cultural mentalities and sensibilities.
The degree course in Modern Languages and Literature provides students with the possibility to specialise in two areas, by offering specific options in:
Teacher Training, aimed at providing students with adequate training as future language teachers;
Translation, aimed at training future translators.
There is also the possibility to pursue General Studies, where students can opt for subjects from a wide range of options in linguistic and literary studies.
