2026/27 - Admission - 2nd cycle of studies admission - 1st Phase

Applicants to this cycle of studies must hold a first cycle degree from any Portuguese or foreign University, provided they have completed a minimum of 54 ECTS credits in the fields of Portuguese Language, Literature and Culture. I.e.: Applicants must be holders of an undergraduate degree (corresponding to a minimum of 180 ECTS credits) or legal equivalent; Foreign academic degree awarded following the completion of a first cycle of studies organized in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Process by a Country participating in the Bologna process; Foreign higher academic degree recognized by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of Porto’s statutorily competent scientific body as meeting the objectives of the corresponding undergraduate degree; An academic, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognized by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto’s statutorily competent scientific body as having the aptitude to complete this course of study leading to a master's degree in Portuguese Second Language / Foreign Language. Foreign applicants must also have Portuguese language proficiency equivalent to the DUPLE or CAPLE levels.
