Application to Continuing Education Courses (Languages)

Prerequisites 2025/2026 - Enrolment in Placement test (online)


Application to annual and intensive Language courses

The Placement Test is taken online through the AcademiaUP platform.



Enrolment in the placement test

  • The placement test is MANDATORY:

For applicants who have knowledge of the language they wish to learn, but do not know their level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 or C2).

NOTE: If applicants do not take the test and select a level in which they are not proficient, according to 'FLUP’s Internal Procedures for Continuing Education', the paid fee will not be refunded and, to attend a different level, a new application and a new payment must be made.

  • The placement test is not required:
For applicants who have no knowledge of the language they wish to learn and so apply directly to level "A1";

For applicants who have obtained formal approval (and can provide proof of it) in the level prior to the one they wish to attend.


Testing dates and applications for exams (1st and 2nd semester, including Summer courses):

ENGLIS

Application Dates:
From 3rd July to 2nd September, 2025

Test dates:
From 8th to 10th September, 2025

Application: English placement test

FRENCH

Application Dates: 
From 23rd July to 10th September, 2025

Test dates:
From 15th to 17th September, 2025

Application: French placement test

GERMAN

Application Dates:
From 3rd July, 2025 to 2nd September, 2025

Test dates:
From 8th to 10th September, 2025

Application: German placement test

Payment 


  • Fee: 30¤
To do that, you should access to your personal area > Right menu option "current account"
Options of payment:
  • Direct payment at FLUP’s Treasury Office on the 1st floor (from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm)
  • ATM (if you have a Portuguese debit bank card)*
  • Credit Card*

*Payments can be made by MBWAY(1), ATM(1), and Cartão bancário (Credit/Debit card).
To access these payment methods, you should go to the "unsettled expenses" tab in your current account. Then select the icon next to the fee, fill in all the fields marked in red and click on "make payment". Then choose the payment method you want.

  • The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
