Description:

 The Academic Management Office operates in the administration and management areas and supports the education of the first, second and third cycles, as well as the continuing education and employability. 
This service is coordinated by a senior technician and understands the following competences: 
  

  • to provide information about the conditions of admission and attendance in graduate courses, as well as Master courses and PhD courses, non-degree post-graduations, free courses and FLUP’s continuous training courses;
  • to elaborate warnings and public notices and to execute all the service regarding applications, registrations, inscriptions, attendance, re-admittance, course switching, special contests, transfers and several academic acts;
  • to register in a computer all the acts which may concern the students’ life, organizing and bringing the archive with the respective individual files up to date;
  • to issue certificates of registration, inscription, attendance, conclusion and others non-private acts;
  • to organize the processes regarding the concession of equivalence and the recognition of qualifications;
  • to prepare student-related data to answer the solicitations made by the National Institute of Statistics, by the Higher Education Ministry, as well by the University of Porto or others;
  • to support the elaboration, organization and disclosure of all the continuing education courses and other education activities created at FLUP; to collaborate with the scientific coordinators of those activities and to guarantee their evaluation;
  • to organize an updated database regarding teachers and students;
  • to support the employability of FLUP’s graduates;
  • to promote, to coordinate and to develop actions in order to contribute to the students’ integration at school and to promote their academic success, namely by actions concerning different minorities;
  • to promote the development of personal skills, of personal interaction and professional attitudes.
