Objectives

To understand the development of 19th and 20th-century architecture, students will study the theories, movements and figures responsible for the major accomplishments and their relation with the historical and social contexts.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Several methods will be used (explanatory, dialogical, text and image analysis - slides, transparencies, etchings, videos, etc.) in compliance with the contents mentioned above and bearing in mind the most appropriate for the group of students at issue. Dialogue will at all times be valued, urging students to develop their analysis skills, creativity and critical spirit.

Class attendance is required.

Calculation formula of final grade

Continuous evaluation: average mark in the two tests: 60%;
Written assignment: 40%
