Cycles of Study/Courses
Objectives
To introduce the students to the main events that occurred in Portugal in the 14th and 15th centuries, namely the 14th-century crisis and its demographic, social, economic and political dimensions, the reign of D. João I and the beginning of the Sea Expansion, the crisis of 1438-1449, D. Afonso V and D. João II policies towards Africa and the sea voyages during the reign of D. Manuel.
