Objectives

 

This course unit intends to outline a political, economic, social and cultural panorama of Germany from the mid-19th century to the second decadeof the 20th century.


By the end of the semester the students who passed the evaluation components will know which events and personalities were most relevant in the political, economic, social and cultural history of Germany in the second half of the 19th and the first two decades of the 20th centuries. Such wide and multisided knowledge will enable the students to a critical perspective and a contextualizing approach to the human facts.



 

Learning outcomes and competences

 

 Through a systematic study of the phenomena and of the political, economic and social contexts that characterize the history of Germany in the in the second half of the XIX century and the first two decades of the XX century, the students will get a detailed, rigorous and multifaceted knowledge of the contemporary Germany.

Classification improvement

The improvement test (melhoria) will evaluate all the contents that are considered for the final examinationin the época normal and época de recurso.

Teaching language: Portuguese.
Students must have good skils in the Portuguese language, so that they can understand, speak and write Portuguese well
