Objectives
- To identify the conceptual tools to approach the museum as cultural institution;
- To develop a critical reflection on the role of the museum in contemporary society: envolved political and ethical issues;
- To recognize the centrality of exhbition in museum work;
- To understand the potencial contribution of ethnographic methodology for the dynamic contextualization of museum collections;
- To summarize information on different approaches of material culture;
- To summarize relevant information leading to the critical overcoming of formalist approaches to objects;
Learning outcomes and competences
Students who successfuly complete the module will be able to:
- Master of the theoretical issues related to the museological representation;
- Development of the capacity for critical refletion and analysis;
- Developmente of the ability to communicate orally and in writing.

Eligibility for exams
Students must guarantee a 75% attendance. Attendance will be verified by students' signature in attendance sheets, which may be consulted for absence management. Except for the cases provided for in the general law and regulations of the Faculty.
Calculation formula of final grade
Final Student Research Report: 100%
The Research Report will consist of a critical exercise over a case of museological representation.
