Objectives
With this course it is intended that students know how to detect specific features of the German language and their correspondence to the Portuguese: These specificities belong to different levels of language
Learning outcomes and competences
Through the comparison of various types of texts of various levels of difficulty, students are faced with some peculiarities of functioning of both language systems (Portuguese and German). Comparing some dimensions, such as the use of time, the verbal aspect, sentence construction, modal particles, and characteristics of the use of the German language with their corresponding forms of European Portuguese, students may become aware for certain specificities of each system language, which may facilitate both the translation process ( from L2 to L1) and verbal production in L2.

Presencial
Pre-requirements (prior knowledge) and co-requirements (common knowledge)
student should have accomplished the level A2 of German.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Lessons will be partially expositive during the presentation of the theoretical background referred in the program.
The theoretical subjects presented in the expositive lessons will be afterwards identified, explained and discussed on the basis of different types of texts.
