Objectives

The choice of a program which is simultaneously thematic and anthological and which focuses on the period from the late eighteenth to the early twentieth century allows treating in an articulated way texts of different modes and different genres and subgenres of some of the most canonical German speaking authors. The students will come into contact with the philosophical-critical, sociocultural and aesthetic-literary tendencies of some of the most fertile periods of literature thought in Germany. The theme chosen for the program (father/son; father/daughter relationship), familiar to students and traditionally appealing to them, allows to articulate the intimate and personal sphere with the social and political dimension.
The choice of works of different genres, subgenres and styles makes it easy to review and / or to reinforce previous knowledge in relation to matters within the aesthetic and the literary and allows the reading of diverse critical bibliography and the introduction of some less complex analytical methodologies
