Objectives

1) Presenting the present profile of History of Historiography.
2) Defining a chronology in time for XVII-XX centuries and adequately justifying it.
3) Teaching the main knowledge about a given theme of “Historical schools” (Enlightenment, Romanticism, “Methodical School”, Marxism, Annales / New Histories, “New Political Stories, Post-Modernity…
4) Providing texts of the main authors belonging to the proposed times to the students.
6) Understanding the reasons that explain the role played by historians in contemporary societies.

Learning outcomes and competences


1. To know about the major historical schools (centuries XVII - XX).

2. To use of accuracy in identifying the same concepts.

3. To identify and interpret some historiographical texts (centuries XIX - XX).

4. To discuss of some issues related to History, paying special attention to some characters from the XVII century to the present-day.
