Objectives

1) to identify and characterise different types of medieval documents 2) to establish a link between the form of the deeds, their legal aims and the institution that produced them 3) to identify the factors that helped shape the institutions producing the documents 4) to acquire the skills needed to apply a specific research method in the analysis of medieval documents and to present the results obtained

Learning outcomes and competences

The program, by providing students information on the different types of documents, their internal and external features, etc.., provides the elements considered essential for reading and interpreting a variety of written historical sources related to the history of Portugal.
