Teaching methods and learning activities

The Course will present a critical approach to the study of communication and mediation in museums and its relationship to the concepts od heritage and learning and education in heritage and museological contexts. Sessions are of different nature and while some are theoretical-practical, with presentation and discussion of issues using not only audio-visual material but also different critical readings of texts required of students (individually and in groups), or the exploration of objects,  it also offers more practical and laboratorial sessions in which to explore and experience museum resources, drawing, wherever possible, to the field and its interlocutors. This essential contact zone with professionals is also understood as an excellent opportunity for dialogically test ideas. Evaluation is distributed and beyond (a) attendance and quality of participation during the different sessions (40%), it takes into account (b) the submission of a Report / Portfolio (60%) which is also a result of Laboratory work.
