Objectives

In this course, learners of German as a foreign language must achieve a level of knowledge appropriate to the level A2.2 (basic user) Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) in all skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing).

Learning outcomes and competences

At the end of the semester, in addition to master the terminology and competent use of grammatical structures planned for this level, students who successfully complete this class should possess the following skills: - Read and understand simple and clear texts about everyday life. - Interact orally in everyday situations, exchanging information on elementary topics. - Produce short and simple texts: notes, informal letters, emails.

Grammar topics: - Präteritum der Modalverben - Temporale Nebensätze ("als", "wenn", "nachdem", "bevor") - Präteritum - Plusquamperfekt - Zeitadverbien - das Verb "werden" - Wortbildung (Komposition von Nomina) - Wünsche, Höflichkeit mit "hätt-" und "könnt-" - Orts- und Richtungsangaben - Konditionalsätze mit "wenn" - Finalsätze mit "damit" / "um...zu" - Verbvalenz (Vertiefung)

Teaching methods and learning activities

Practical classes; multiple didactic strategies; group or individual work; autonomous work using materials indicated by the lecturer. Self-study is expected in order to consolidate knowledge and cover possible language voids. Active cooperation during classes in order to improve communicative skills is particularly important.

Eligibility for exams

Approval in the diverse elements of evaluation. Working students and other students legally exempt from regular class attendance should contact the teacher at the beginning of the semester in order to combine a form of alternative assessment.

Calculation formula of final grade

Three written tests: 70%. Oral examination: 30%.

Students who, for proven reasons of force majeure have missed an assessment test, may recover an element of evaluation written or oral assessment at the end of the semester, on a date fixed in the Exam Season.
