By the end of the second semester students should be able to do the following: 1. Participate actively in Tutorial Discussion Groups; 2. Distinguish between fact and opinion ; 3. Evaluate texts from different points of view; 4. Write a report; Write a discursive essay; 5. Skim and scan texts.
1. Development of students written skills is descriptve writing, discursive writing and report writng from graphs.
2. Develpoment of Speaking skills in relation to discussing the plot, characters and themes/ideas explored in a novel.
3. Improvement of students' grammatical competence especially in the areas of Past and Perfect tenses, Participle clauses, Modals of obligation and Determiners.
4. Strengthening the range of students' lexical knowledge particularly in the themes discussed in class - namely "Theory and Practice" and "Heroes and Villains".
Global Advanced Units 1-3 have already been completed by B2.4 students in B2.3.

This will be divided into two parts: ORAL/AURAL evaluation (listening, speaking, tutorial group presentations on topics, storytelling, debates, dictation, oral exam on set books) and WRITTEN evaluation (Reading comprehension, Essay writing, use of English tests).
