Objectives
The supervision seminar of the 2nd year of the Master’s degree in History and Heritage, on the Heritage Mediation branch, has the goal of following two groups of students: those who prepare the project/internship and respective final report, and those who prepare a dissertation.
Therefore, we will seek to help the students develop the following competences:
- consolidation of the work project elaborated on the 1st year of the degree and adequation to the specific imposed changes, either by internship work in a labour environment, or by empirical research work developed in order to present the final dissertation;
- application of acquired knowledge during the theoretical or practical education throughout the degree to a specific work project;
There are, still, the following goals:
- to incentive the development of critical competences, research, information systematization and synthesis and/or its practical application, in order to present a final product;
- to follow the several phases of field work, either in a labour environment or in a research and information processing environment;
- to orient the elaboration and presentation of preliminary reports describing the work developed (adopted criteria, working path, preliminary outcomes), etc.;
- to foster a critical, interspersed and crossed analysis of the developed work, involving the supervisor of each seminar, as well as colleagues compromised with related working projects.
Program
So as to answer the proposed goals, the program will have to adapt to the projects/internships and the projects/dissertations developed by each student.
In the beginning of sessions, a working plan will be defined, as well as a chronogram, which will be accomplished throughout the course of the subject and adjusted, if necessary, to the constraints which may turn up in the project’s real context.
Teaching methods and learning activities
Individual and group supervision.
Discussion/debate, with students, about the problematics regarding each project; respective bibliographic and methodological supervision.
