Objectives
- To develop documentary and bibliographic research skills in Social and Human Sciences, particularly historiographic research.
- To provide tools, techniques, and methods for information research.
- To promote the practical application of those methods and research techniques in actual research practice.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Theoretical-practical classes: theoretical-practical lectures, which may make use of interactive work and the support of specialists on Information Science.
Tutorials: Class reflection and discussion of individual research projects. Oral presentation of projects and intermediate stages of work.
PL: Working in libraries and archives: practical exercises on bibliographic and documentary research focusing on several typologies of documentary institutions.

Eligibility for exams
Students are required to attend at least 75% of all teaching/learning modalities.
Calculation formula of final grade
The final mark is calculated by the weighted average of the mark obtained in the paper, student participation in OT and PT sessions and the outcome of the exercises carried out in PL sessions, according to the following formula:
TOTAL= 75% P + 20% IT + 5% CP
P= Written paper. Simulation of a research path and treatment of a document type.
IT = Intermediate work. Intermediate stages of the paper presentation.
CP = Class participation.
