Objectives

The course will concentrate on enlarging the theoretical knowledge and the competence of critical analysis of the students. We will focus on different genres, modes, styles and periods.

Program

Based on the study of some of the many controversies that have been generated, we will discuss concepts like tradition, models, rules, innovation, disruption, etc. We will also be considering and observing textual genres and subgenres in their diachronic developments and the reception they suffered. This study will articulate the different styles, both in a synchronic diachronic perspective.
