Objectives
It is our aim to examine the psycho-developmental processes related with adolescence, based on the central role played by the developmental contexts (family, community, society, politics, economics, etc.) in the evolution of those same processes. Based on an ecological-developmental model of the human development and a theoretical framework that emphasizes the historical and social variables that characterise the emergence and evolution of adolescence, students will be encouraged to explore some of the major issues of psychology of adolescence, particularly in the field of the teachers' basic training. Among these, we could mention the pubertal development and its psychological implications, the relationships of the adolescent with his family, the school and his peers, the vocational development and the transition from school to work, the leisure activities and the processes of psychological adaptation within the framework of the transitions that occur in the adolescence.1. Identification of the main characteristics of adolescence as a period of human development;
2. Analysis, from a social and historical perspective, of the adolescent development;
3. Relationship between the impact of everyday situations in adolescence processes and psychological development;
4. Preview situations related to the adolescents' behaviour in an educational context.
