This initiative aims to provide students with exposure to a real-world work environment, enabling them to apply the knowledge they have acquired throughout their degree. The projects will take place from 27 April to 26 June 2026 (totalling 245 working hours).

Students are expected to undertake activities within a wide variety of organisations/companies, as well as in all types of libraries, archives, museums, or documentation centres, preparing them for their future professional roles as information managers, content managers, or information analysts. The activities to be developed should focus on the following:

• supporting the production, organising, selecting, evaluating, researching, disseminating, and preserving of information in any organisational context, regardless of its format or medium;
• Sspecifying, organising, managing, and evaluating information systems and services;
• developing functional analysis and designing business processes within the context of their digital transformation;
• applying techniques for evaluating information sources and resources, and subsequently communicating findings to both expert and non-expert audiences;
• supporting consultancy projects in the domains of information management, process and service management, and information systems across various institutional and organisational contexts.

SUBMISSION OF PROPOSALS:

Proposal submission is conducted online until 3 March 2026, in the following manner:

GENERAL PUBLIC (without a FLUP registration):

• Proponents must first register their institution (where they should select the interest area "Bachelor of Arts in Information Science" via the following link: https://sigarra.up.pt/flup/en/inst_geral.edita.
• This link is accessible via the "External Relations" option in the left-hand side menu of the SIGARRA homepage, and then via the right-hand side menu > option "Register your company here".
• After registration validation and activation by FLUP, proponents will receive their login credentials by email.
• To submit a proposal, after logging into the information system, simply access the link below and click on the "New Proposal" option in the right-hand side menu: https://sigarra.up.pt/flup/en/estagios_processos.ver_processo?p_id=29399&pv_perfil=PROP.
