TARGET APPLICANTS

Are admitted as applicants to register in the 3rd cycle of studies leading to the PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences:

  1. Holders of Master Degree or legal equivalent in the areas of Health Sciences, Biology and Chemistry;
  2. Holders of Graduation Degree, presenting a particularly relevant school or scientific curriculum, recognized as attesting the ability to undertake this cycle of studies by the Scientific Committee;
  3. Exceptionally, holders of a school, scientific or professional curriculum recognized by the Scientific Committee as certifying the ability to carry out this cycle of studies.

International students are those designated in article 3 of the Decree-Law nº 36/2014, March 10th, revised by the Decree-Law nº 62/2018, August 6th and in article 1 of the Regulation nº 664/2018, October 16th.

Candidates who are not considered international, in accordance with that diploma, may not apply under this regime.


NOTE: Under the terms of UPorto's international student status regulations, if a candidate holds two or more nationalities but one of them is Portuguese, they will not be able to apply through the special international student competition. If the applicant has two or more nationalities, one of which is not Portuguese, but one of the nationalities is from a member state of the European Union, they may opt for one of them (article 1 of Regulamento nº 664/2018, of 16 October).

APPLICABLE LEGISLATION

- Decreto-Lei nº 36/2014, of 10 March, as amended by Decreto-Lei n.º 62/2018, de 6 de agosto - Regulates the status of international students.
- Regulamento n.º 664/2018, of 16 October - Regulations for the application of the international student status at the University of Porto.


TUITION FEES

FULL-TIME:
- International Students: ¤ 5.500,00 euros;
- International Students (Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries): ¤ 3.025,00 euros;
- National Students: ¤ 2.750,00 euros.

PART-TIME (according to the number of ECTS Credits of enrollment)

ENROLMENT FEE: ¤100,00

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR APPLICATION (ON-LINE)

  1. Identity Card/Citizen Card/Passport or other legally equivalent document (Valid identification document);
  2. Taxpayer Number (Portugal);
  3. Declaration (under pledge of honour), that the applicant is covered by the international student status (only for INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS, if applicable);
  4. Curriculum Vitae:
    • Academic Curriculum;
    • Scientific Curriculum;
    • Professional Experience.
  5. Documents proving academic qualifications (endowed with average) and diploma supplement, if any; or Certificate proving ownership for a Foreign Academic Degree (must include average and indication of the applied rating scale); *
  6. Teaching Declaration (official document of the institution where he/she teaches, with indication of the respective category), if applicable;
  7. Supervisor and Co-supervisor's Term of Acceptance (indicate ONE supervisor and ONE co-supervisor at the time of application, other co-supervisors may be added, duly justified, after enrolment);
  8. Plan, setting out the area to be investigated, indicating the doctoral specialty, the provisional subject and the objectives to be subscribed by the advisor(s) and the candidate(s);
  9. Declaration of acceptance by the Director of the Department of FFUP, indicating the Laboratory of FFUP where the student's work will take place (Laboratory to which the advisor of FFUP belongs);
  10. Proof of acceptance by the foreign host institution indicating the phase of stay;
  11. Document proving the granting of the FCT scholarship or other official entity, and in its absence, proof of application for the scholarship (if applicable).

*Foreign documents or documents which have been issued abroad must be validated by the official Educational Service of the country in which they were awarded and certified by consular offices or embassies of Portugal located in the country where the qualification was obtained or, for countries that acceded to the Hague Convention, hold the Hague Apostille of the country where the qualification was obtained. All documents that are not in Portuguese, Spanish, French or English language have to be translated into Portuguese.


DUES
¤55,00 euros, non refundable.
Failure to pay the emoluments on time will result in the application being rejected outright.

To pay the emoluments, the candidate must access the "Current Account", click on the symbol Imagem , where they can choose the payment method (MB Way, MULTIBANK Reference, Bank Card).

NOTE: Applicants not placed in one phase and wishing to apply for another phase will have to apply again and pay application fees.
