Abstract (EN): The present paper is a review on the impact of HVDC networks and technology on existing HVAC Transmission system protection. The first goal is to provide an overview of the impact and interactions of HVDC technology (DC protection and VSC-HVDC) on connected AC transmission network protection system. The second is a list of the main challenges faced by AC protections, followed by an overview of some of the research open points from the study of the interactions.
