Apresentação Pessoal

Fernando Osório is a first-year PhD student in Industrial Engineering and Management at FEUP and a Research Assistant at INESC TEC, focusing on application-driven developments of frontier techniques in the field of Education. He presented and discussed the research in international conferences, namely the 18th European Workshop on Efficiency and Productivity Analysis (EWEPA) and the 10th Leuven Economics of Education Research (LEER) Conference. He is currently a member of the organising committee of the international EduBEST workshop in the scope of EduBEST project, funded by FCT (2022.08686.PTDC), dedicated to efficiency and productivity assessment in education and public services.

He is also a member of U.Porto Student Board within the European University Alliance for Global Health (EUGLOH), contributing to the employability and lifelong learning work package. Holding a BSc and MSc in Industrial Engineering and Management from FEUP, he was involved in academic governance as a member of FEUP Pedagogical Council, and of the BSc and MSc degree Monitoring Committees. He participated in two Erasmus+ mobility experiences, completing a six-month study period at "Politecnico di Milano" and a three-month research period at "Università di Pisa".

His academic achievements include obtaining the top grade on his MSc dissertation (20/20), receiving "Prémio Mestre APGEI" awarded by the Portuguese Association of Industrial Engineering and Management (APGEI) for the highest overall grade in the MSc degree (18/20), the "Logistics Student Award" presented by Rangel Logistics Solutions for the highest grade in the Logistics course of the same degree, and the second best oral presentation at the BSc final congress. During his studies, he completed three internships in organizations: two in logistics, at Netceed (2021) and Rangel Logistics Solutions (2023), and one in operations and information management at Sonae Indústria (2022).

He attended a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt course at "Technische Universität Kaiserslautern", an Econometrics course at the Faculty of Economics (FEP), and received training in logistics operations optimisation from Kaizen Institute and in project management from APGEI. He is proficient in Python, R, and Visual Basic, as well as in data management and visualization tools, such as SQL, Access and Power BI.
