The mission of the Department of Engineering Physics involves the creation, transmission and spread of knowledge, technology, innovation and culture in the area of Engineering Physics, to the interest of the human being, respecting all her/his rights.

The Department of Engineering Physics is formed by a body of 11 permanent professor members, supported by three administrative and technical staff members as well as several researchers and grantees.

The Department Executive Committee is composed of the Department Director,  António Silva, Carlos Pintassilgo (Subdirector), and Joana Oliviera.
