Objectives

This course unit aims to promote basic transversal skills for an engineer with responsibilities in a laboratory context, namely in topics related to the identification and use of materials and tools useful in the assembly and testing of laboratory facilities.

Learning outcomes and competences

Proficiently acquire:

• skills in the field of experimentation (formulation and testing of hypotheses, experimental planning, data search);

• critical and creative thinking skills in solving engineering problems; designing, implementing, testing and operating units in a laboratory environment.

Working method

Presencial

Program

The curricular unit is divided into five thematic workshops (oficinas temáticas).

Mandatory literature

Robert H. Perry; Perry.s chemical engineers. handbook. ISBN: 0-07-049841-5

Teaching methods and learning activities

Learning based on content exposure and practical application in a laboratory context. Problem-based learning will be encouraged. All participants will be given the opportunity to proactively participate in the proposed activities.
