Objectives
Understand the complexity in implementing a CI project and its development contexts. Be acquainted with, and apply integrated production strategies for its parts.
Be acquainted with, and apply procedures for performance assessment, waste reduction and increasing efficiency.
Impact on business activity.
Understand the endogenous and exogenous conditions that affect a construction site, its security conditions and risk of accident factors, strategies for workspace efficiency and prevention of accidents.
Understand the advantages of BIM in the coordination of projects.
Be acquainted with the legal frameworks for professional acts on the CI, company and individualwise.
Procurement models and evaluation of bids. Internationalisation of PMC and its effects; FIDIC contracts, laws and acculturation.
How to make use of HR competencies in improving PMC; efficient use of subcontractors and selfemployed persons.
Discussion of ethical and professional conduct aspects of HR management in CI.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Classes of 3 hours, combining lectures supported by audiovisual presentations (slides, videos) with periods of discussion and application to small works, to be accomplished in class in order to materialise the ideas covered. Case studies specifically developed for the module will be used.
Semicontinuous assessment, including group assignments to be carried out in a perspective of TeamBased Learning, smallscale individual assignments to be carried out between classes and focused on several themes, complemented by a final exam (60% +40% relative weights).
