Fundamental concepts of sustainability: principles, definition and dates; The Sustainable Development Goals; Specific aspects of sustainability applied to construction: institutions; Agenda 21 for sustainable construction. Sustainability assessment methods; Sustainability challenges: quality of construction vs. sustainability; construction rehabilitation and sustainability.


DEMONSTRATION OF THE SYLLABUS COHERENCE WITH THE CURRICULAR UNIT'S OBJECTIVES:

The application of several sustainability assessment methods allows the achievement of the defined objectives, in particular, with the current knowledge of these methods.

The specific bibliography will be suggested to each student, depending on the theme chosen for the written assignment.

Teaching methods and learning activities

The teaching involves tutorial sessions with theoretical presentations and discussions. The student grading will be based on a written report assignment.

DEMONSTRATION OF THE COHERENCE BETWEEN THE TEACHING METHODOLOGIES AND THE LEARNING OUTCOMES:
