Objectives

To present relevant basic concepts and main formulation and methods related to water balance analysis, assessment and mitigation of extreme situations and water resources management.

Learning outcomes and competences

To apply the concepts and methods presented. To characterize the different components of the water balance and associated risks and uncertainties. To link the different instruments involved in water resources management.

DEMONSTRATION OF THE SYLLABUS COHERENCE WITH THE CURRICULAR UNIT'S OBJECTIVES:

The application of methods and concepts presented enables achieving the knowledge needed for the analysis of water systems and water resources management.

Teaching methods and learning activities

The teaching involves sessions with theoretical presentations and discussions. The student grading will be based on a report assignment and a written exam if necessary.
