Objectives
Following the approval of the thesis project by an examination board, within the CU Research Project Proposal Seminar, SP students prepare their PhD Theses under the supervision of one supervisor and, if needed,a co-supervisor.
Learning outcomes and competences
In the end of the study program students submit a PhD Thesis in a scientific topic, where they have to show original contributions, expertise and knowledge about the state of the art. It is expected when they submit the PhD theses, to have already the work validated by the scientific community, through presentations in international scientific meetings and the publication of papers in international journals.

PRDEIG students develop their PhD Theses under a supervision of a supervisor and, if needed, a co-supervisor.

Teaching methods and learning activities
The work involves sessions for discussion of the thesis topics and for monitoring the progress achieved. The thesis is defended in a public session with a board of examiners comprising the dean, that presides, or by whom it receives delegation for this purpose, a minimum of three to a maximum of five members holders of Doctorate degree, experts in the thesis area and the supervisor.
