The main objective of the course is to develop skills for reading and analyse financial and accounting information and to understand the basics of financial mathematics and financial management.
It is expected that students at the end of this course:
1. Will be able to read and understand accounting information and to analyze financial statements.
2. Will understand the basics of financial mathematics knowing how to apply them to choose alternative financial instruments.
3. Will be able to understand the impact of financial decisions.

General Evaluation Rules of FEUP.
Final mark of the program will be calculated as follows: Essay on a company's financials: 50% weight in the final mark of the program Final Exam: 50% weight in the final mark. Final Exam will evaluate all topics of syllabus program.
Students have to reach a minimum grade of 40% in each part (essay and Final Exam).
