Objectives

Characterization of the most current equipment in mining operations, such as quarry loading and transportation equipment, aiming at the integration of their operating cycles in optimization processes based on simulations of their unit operations.
Presentation of deterministic and stochastic methods, algorithmized or not, able to become agents of the intended integrating / optimizing approach.
Knowledge of the key features and methodologies available for loading and transportation activities in the mining industry.
Skills in observation, collection, and processing of data in order to optimize processes of loading and transport in mining activities. Practical knowledge in the construction and use of models of organized systems of loading and transport.

Learning outcomes and competences

Knowledge of the main resources and methodologies available for the various mining operations, in particular those of loading and transportation activities in the mining industry. Skills in terms of observation, collection, and processing of data with a view to optimizing processes inherent to various mining operations. Practical knowledge in the construction and use of organized system models for the simulation of mining operations.
