Objectives

This UC is made up of two distinct components: Chemical Engineering “EQ” and Mechanics “Mecânica”

(A)Component “EQ”. "Traditional Laboratory" classes (LabEQ) alternating (every other week) with specific workshops on topics of Fluids and Heat.

(B)Component “Mecânica”. Introduction to basic concepts on mechanics of solids and strength of materials.

Learning outcomes and competences

The students do experiments on simple physical concepts and physicochemical processes and learn to communicate their results both orally and in written form.

The concepts physical used in this UC were taught in previous UCs of the course. A student who has not learned those previous concepts will not gain much from attending this UC
