Objectives
Introductory course on ordinary differential equations with applications to biology and medicine.
Learning outcomes and competences
The sylabus of this course will enable the student to either solve analitically a variety of differential equations and apply qualitative techniques when such an analytical solution is not possible.
Students will learn the important role that both qualitative and quantitative methods of differential equations theory play in areas like biology, biochemistry and medicine.
Working method
Presencial
Pre-requirements (prior knowledge) and co-requirements (common knowledge)
Differential and integral calculus.

Eligibility for exams
The presence of each student, in the classes, is registered. The student cannot miss more than 25% of the planned classes.
Calculation formula of final grade
Students have the possibility of obtaining final approval through the realisation of two tests: one during the class period and the other on the same day of the normal season exam.
If the student gives up these two tests he/she still has the two exams commonly available during the exam season.
Final mark = exam mark
or
Final Mark = 0.8*T1+1.2*T2
where,
T1 = grade in first test
T2 = grade in second test
Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)
Following the evaluation rules in this School.
Classification improvement
In the second possibility of the final exam (ER) or following the evaluation rules in this School.
Observations
Any behaviour which might perturb the normal functioning of the class will be totally unaccepted. In particular, the playful use of mobile phones and any other engagement in activities which might hint to lack of respect towards the lecturer and the remaining students.
